Pair of AW Nilsson Chairs
1930s
Nickel tubular metal and "Eisengarn". Black lacquered wood armrests.
Original manufacturer Thonet-Mundus sued producer AW Nilsson in 1936. Thonet-Mundus pointed out a series of similarities of Nilsson's chairs as being copies of original chair design of Mart Stam as early as 1927. AW Nilsson won, and the statement read "These sort of furniture haven't got any higher artistic value".
