History:
Marcel Breuer designed several versions of this stacking chair. The first model, being more simplistic in its design, proved no to be strong enough. The final version, of which this dining set is an example of, was assembled with nine pieces in order to improve the stability. The chair was never a commercial success and only in production for a short amount of time. The upholstery added to the seats cannot be traced back to the original design, but was most likely a client's request that the workshop, under lead of Harry Mansell, would have accommodated to.
