Elsa Arokallio

Elsa Arokallio (1892–1982) was a pioneering Finnish architect, noted for her significant contributions to early modernist architecture in Finland. Arokallio was one of the few prominent female architects of her era and co-founded the architectural firm Arokallio & Väkevä with Olavi Väkevä. Among her celebrated works, the design of the Kotka Church in 1930 stands out, showcasing her adept use of simplified forms and functionalist principles, aligned with the modernist movement in architecture.
