Berit Woelfer

Berit Woelfer (1925-2001), originally Björkman, was a notable Swedish textile designer. Her educational journey in textiles culminated at Konstfack, leading to her early career at Elsa Gullberg's Textil och Inredningar. Woelfer's talent also shone through her work for Svensk Hemslöjd, where she crafted vibrant rug designs. Her career further expanded as she developed carpet patterns for Kasthall and later engaged in freelance projects. These projects included collaborations with Strömma Textil and Kooperativa förbundet, along with designing upholstery fabrics for Marks Pellevävare. In the 1970s, Woelfer embarked on a partnership with Finnish firm Tampella, creating notable fabric lines such as Cook and Arc.
